Harry Callahan, Eleanor, 1947
The National Gallery of Art recently had a retrospective of photographs by Harry Callahan. Photography is not my strong suit, but even without much of knowledge of the technical aspects of photography, it was obvious that Callahan was a master of the medium. His photographs are subtle and quiet, but powerful. I'm kicking myself for not going back to see the show a second time! Check out this review (and slide show) of the exhibition in the
Washington Post.
